65 mm valve with a 45 mm rim leaves approximately 20 mm

85 mm valve with a 60 mm rim leaves approximately 25 mm

Presta and Schrader Are Not Interchangeable

Valve length is only one part of compatibility. The valve type must also match the rim hole.

 

Presta valves are narrower and are commonly used on road, gravel and performance MTB wheels. Schrader valves have a wider body and are frequently found on BMX, city and some entry-level bicycle wheels.

 

A Schrader valve should not be forced into a Presta rim hole. A Presta valve may fit through a wider Schrader hole, but it may require an appropriate reducer or support arrangement.
